5 Excellent sweet vermouth cocktails that aren’t a Manhattan! | Anders Erickson

Today we’re addressing that bottle of sweet vermouth taking up room in your fridge! Seeing how it doesn’t keep forever, I thought a few classic drink ideas to use it up might be helpful.

Here are some of my favorites beyond the popular Manhattan and Negroni. From sweet to sour, strong to session-able -each drink calls for a different base spirit. La Louisiana Cocktail Recipe

THE LA LOUISIANE RECIPE 0:52

  • 1.5 oz. (45 ml) Rittenhouse 100 proof Rye
  • 3/4 oz. (22.5 ml) Cocchi Vermouth di Torino
  • 3/4 oz. (22.5 ml) Bénédictine DOM
  • 4 dashes Peychaud’s Aromatic Bitters
  • 4 dashes Angostura Aromatic Bitters
  • Absinthe rinse in glass
  • Expressed lemon oil

 

The Bijou Cocktail Recipe

  • 1.25 oz. (37.5 ml) Plymouth Gin
  • 3/4 oz. (22.5 ml) Cocchi Vermouth di Torino
  • 1/4 oz. (7.5 ml) Green Chartreuse
