Cooks, B. – Hou (WR)

2021 fantasy player outlook for Brandin Cooks, WR, Houston Texans (6/23) Advice: Cooks proved there’s still plenty left in the tank in 2020, as he mostly stayed healthy and re-emerged as a must-start Fantasy option with the Texans. Cooks won’t even be 28 until after Week 1, and he’s been extremely productive whenever he has been healthy. His history of concussions is obviously a red flag, as is the up-in-the-air status of QB Deshaun Watson, who demanded a trade this offseason and is facing potential discipline from the NFL for off-the-field issues. It would be a lot harder to trust Cooks if Tyrod Taylor was starting for the Texans, but Cooks should still be a starting-caliber option with big weekly upside. Cooks isn’t likely to be drafted as a starter in most leagues, making him an excellent No. 4 WR to target around the 100th pick. (

Obama called Trump a ‘corrupt motherf—er,’ a ‘racist, sexist pig,’ and a ‘f—ing lunatic,’ a new book reportedly says

After leaving office in 2017, President Barack Obama, known for his affable nature, largely didn’t speak out against his successor, President Donald Trump.

But by the time the 2020 presidential campaign came around, the gloves were off.

With Joe Biden in the throes of a campaign to unseat an incumbent president, Obama made several high-profile campaign appearances for his former vice president where he slammed Trump.

He also voiced plenty of R-rated criticism of Trump behind the scenes, according to “Battle for the Soul: Inside the Democrats’ Campaigns to Defeat Donald Trump,” a new book by Edward-Isaac Dovere, a staff writer at The Atlantic. The Guardian on Wednesday reported on excerpts from the book, set to be released next week.

Senate leaders reach agreement on impeachment trial rules

The second impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump begins this week as Senate leaders reached an agreement Monday, giving the impeachment managers and Trump’s lawyers up to 16 hours each to present their cases and creating the option for a debate and vote to call witnesses — if the House impeachment managers seek it.

Capitol riot arrest of restaurant owner rattles hometown

KANE, Pa. — A crank caller ordered an “insurrection pizza” from Pauline Bauer’s restaurant. A profane piece of hate mail addressed her as a domestic terrorist. She even became a punchline for Stephen Colbert’s late-night talk show on CBS.

A swift backlash greeted Capitol riot suspects like Bauer when they returned to their homes across the U.S. after joining the mob that stormed past police barricades, smashed windows and disrupted the certification of Joe Biden’s presidential victory on Jan. 6. Relatives, friends or co-workers reported scores of them to the FBI. Some lost jobs. Others lost their freedom, jailed awaiting trials.

Mo Brooks Says He Wore Body Armor to Jan. 6 Rally After Getting Tip Off

Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) has continuously denounced the investigation into the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, even as he’s being sued by his colleagues over his role in inciting it. But while Brooks has said he didn’t believe the riot would turn violent, he told a Slate reporter Wednesday that he was actually tipped off about potential violence, prompting him to sleep in his office the day before the Ellipse speech and wear body armor to the rally.

Hilton, T.Y. – Ind (WR)

2021 fantasy player outlook for T.Y. Hilton, WR, Indianapolis Colts (6/23) Advice: Hilton looked like he might be finished as a Fantasy contributor for much of 2020, but a strong close has him back on radars as a potential starting option in the mid-to-late rounds. Hilton closed out the season with 435 yards and five touchdowns over the final six games of the season before opting to re-sign with the Colts on a one-year deal in free agency — apparently turning down more money from other teams in the process. He’ll be playing with another new quarterback in Carson Wentz, who needs to earn back a lot of trust after a disastrous final season in Philadelphia, but Hilton showed enough late last season to think he could still be a reliable starter if everything goes right. Mexico moves to legalise cannabis

Mexico’s senate has voted to legalise cannabis throughout the country. The bill now has to pass through congress, but it has been seen as the first serious attempt to legalise cannabis in a country that has become notorious for its drug war.

NFL free agency 2021: Packers’ Aaron Jones has several attractive potential landing spots

Aaron Jones bet on himself in 2020, and it paid off mightily. While his season ended unceremoniously at the hands of the eventual Super Bowl-winning Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the 26-year-old was off to the races for much of the year and became one of the most dangerous running backs in the NFL. His dominance last season has him sitting atop a robust free agency class of halfbacks this offseason, and there’s arguably quite a bit of distance between first place and the rest of the field.

2021 NFL Running Backs: Sleepers

They’re not popular… yet. Keep up on the latest NFL sleepers. They may not be starters right now, but, are only one hurdle away from serious playing time and maybe fantasy relevance. These players may be the piece that helps you make a playoff push or may become an asset down the road in your dynasty leagues.

GOP Congressman Mo Brooks asks court to grant him immunity from January 6 suit

Washington — Republican Congressman Mo Brooks of Alabama is asking a federal court to grant him immunity from a lawsuit alleging he incited the violence at the U.S. Capitol on January 6.

Brooks argued in a filing with the U.S. district court in the District of Columbia he was acting within the scope of his employment as a member of the House when he delivered a speech at a rally outside the White House on January 6.

After his speech and remarks from former President Donald Trump, scores of the former president’s supporters descended upon the Capitol and breached the building in an attempt to stop Congress from reaffirming President Biden’s win. Five people died and hundreds of people, including law enforcement protecting the building and lawmakers inside, were injured.

Aloha Shrimp

Their spicy garlic shrimp plate dinners are excellent and arguably the best on Oahu. Plenty of huge shrimp (no heads) cooked just right in a delectable sauce (several to choose from). Lots of free parking and picnic tables to eat on (although with pandemic we do not choose to eat there). No bathroom. Located on Kam Hwy., Pat’s at Punaluu. Quick service (no one else there during the pandemic).

The DOJ Won’t Defend Rep. Mo Brooks In Court Against Claims He Incited The Jan. 6 Riot

The Justice Department rejected a request by Alabama Republican Rep. Mo Brooks for legal protection in court against a lawsuit linking him to the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.

Brooks, former President Donald Trump and others were sued by Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., earlier this year. Swalwell alleges that Brooks and others named in the lawsuit helped incite a mob of Trump supporters on Jan. 6 during a pro-Trump rally.

The group later charged the U.S. Capitol building. Five people died that day.

Thielen, A. – Min (WR)

Adam Thielen 2021 Outlook: Passing The Torch Yet Still Scoring Touchdowns (5/14) Advice: Over the final month of 2020, Thielen averaged just 51 receiving yards per game, while Jefferson averaged 90 receiving yards per game. Thielen is also turning 31 before Week 1, so there’s always a risk he could begin to lose a step. Nevertheless, Thielen is a top-15 WR who should be drafted within the first 50-60 picks since he could have 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns this year, but do not be surprised if his fantasy value drops and Jefferson’s soars, either.
