Dynasty League Football: Winners and Losers Fallout from the 2023 NFL Draft
Content Creator: WWL Sports | Saints Radio Network
Winner: Rashid Shaheed, WR (NO)
Rashid Shaheed missed out on the NFL combine and went undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft due to an injury. However, the New Orleans Saints signed him as an undrafted free agent shortly after the draft, recognizing his potential. After recovering from his injury, he worked hard to secure a spot in the starting lineup and impressed everyone with his performance as a rookie undrafted free agent. His excellent qualities as a wide receiver, including great hands, blazing speed, precise route running, and exceptional awareness of his positioning on the field, make him a potential star in the making. Even though Michael Thomas is expected to return, he has never fully recovered from his ankle injury and is viewed as a possession receiver at best. The Saints made a smart move by trading for Derek Carr, a top deep ball passer who has greatly improved their quarterback position from last year. In the 2023 NFL Draft, the Saints waited until the final pick of the sixth round to select A.T. Perry, indicating their confidence in Rashid Shaheed and 2022 first-round pick Chris Olave as their future wide receiver duo. Reports suggest that Rashid Shaheed has been using the offseason to bulk up, improve his strength and speed, and prepare for a much different preseason than last year when he was still recovering from injury. With a more consistent quarterback and greater certainty in his second season, Rashid Shaheed is poised to make a big impact.
