In the world’s wealthiest nation, it’s astonishing that the leading cause of bankruptcy remains medical debt. In 2024 alone, over 100 million Americans—nearly one in three adults—struggled to pay their medical bills. Meanwhile, administrative costs eat up roughly 30% of every healthcare dollar, and the United States spends nearly twice as much per capita on healthcare as any other developed country. Yet, our outcomes rank 38th in the world—behind nations like Slovenia, Portugal, and Costa Rica.

We can do better.
We must do better.
