Let’s talk about the Cleveland Browns and Donovan Peoples-Jones being a sneaky good pick in 2022 fantasy football leagues…
Some people viewed Donovan Peoples-Jones as a first round talent coming out of the draft. However, stuck on a Michigan offense that sputtered through his time there, along with lackluster quarterback play, left his stat sheet relatively bare.
The scarcity of production led to Donovan Peoples-Jones falling in the draft and landing on a run-heavy Cleveland Browns team that also struggled through some poor quarterback play in 2021. They also had a pretty crowded wide receiver room after bringing in veterans to stabilize the group.
Peoples-Jones showed flashes in 2020 and 2021, but in 2022 he will really have a chance to shine. His quarterback is now a healthy Deshaun Watson in lieu of an injured Baker Mayfield. And with Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr. now out of the lineup DPJ will be expected to start opposite Amari Cooper. Combine that with the fact he’s entering his 3rd year, the year wide receivers typically show the most growth, and we have a real recipe for success.
DPJ came out of Michigan and from his combine: stands 6’2”, weighs 212 lbs, and ran a 4.48 40 yard dash with a 1.59 10 yard split; his vertical jump was an explosive 44 1/2 inches to go along with a 11’07” broad jump. His hands measured 10-1/8”, arms 33-1/2″”, and a wingspan of 79-1/4”.
Check out what Mike Tannenbaum had to say about DPJ just a few weeks ago…
I’ve owned DPJ in my dynasty league since his rookie year. If he’s still available in your dynasty league go out and get him as a bench stash for now. And if you’re playing in a competitive redraft league don’t be afraid to get this guy earlier than where his ADP stands at the time of your draft.
Those are my thoughts on the Cleveland Browns’ Donovan Peoples-Jones. But, what are your thoughts? Is he a viable fantasy asset in 2022? And should he be drafted? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
