Kaiser Grille Palm Desert

74040 Hwy 111

$$$ • Seafood, Steakhouses, American (New)

I normally don’t post reviews, but felt absolutely compelled to write one here. This restaurant is top notch. The food, the decor, the service, was all five stars. The owner, Eric, is incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and very friendly. He and I worked together to arrange for a large dinner party at this restaurant, and it was executed flawlessly.  Eric has a high commitment to customer service and integrity. When my plans continued to evolve due to changing conditions with guests, he was very flexible and helpful in that regard and provided me with plenty of options to consider which was very helpful and very much appreciated. All of my guests who attended stated that the food and the service were both fantastic.

I will absolutely be coming back here next time I’m out in the desert.

Mastro’s Steakhouse

73405 El Paseo Ste 120

$$$$ • Steakhouses

I absolutely love Mastro’s and Mastro’s Ocean Club.  And, when I say LOVE, I mean IN LOVE.  What do I love?  Amazing cocktails and wines by the glass, super fine steaks, wonderful and fresh fish, great sides, and BUTTER CAKE, ahem, desserts.  The service, well, the most professional you can get.

Bread: Sure, it’s $5, but it’s oh-so-worthy.  An assortment, each piece better than the previous.  If you’re sharing, be sure to grab a pretzel bread and a crostini.

Meat: it’s all about the meat, isn’t it?  I usually go with the Filet, cause I love it so.  But, I’ve also done the Ribeye and the Bone-in Filet.  All cooked to perfection, and once, when it wasn’t, I said something, and they made it right.

Sides: Three words, Lobster Mashed Potatoes.  Simply, the best thing on the menu.  But also worthy is the Gorgonzola Mac & Cheese, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Scalloped Potatoes, Creamed Spinach, Sauteed Broccoli, Sauteed Asparagus, and Sauteed Mushrooms.

Dessert: Mastro’s Signature Warm Butter Cake.  Served warm (like the name is), an oozingly delicious buttered cake.  Nothing short of amazing, and worth every calorie.

What makes this location unique?

Location: in the lovely El Paseo area, you can valet, but tons of parking in the back as well as limited street parking.  I love options!

Music: if you sit in the bar area, you’ll be privy to live music.  Lizann Warner was wonderful, and sings 2x/week.

La Quinta

La Quinta Cliffhouse

This is a beautiful restaurant set on the side of a little cliff along Highway 111. I loved the ambiance and the views out the window. Service by the entire staff is fantastic and food is delicious.

The only thing that irked me about this place was when we wanted to order the sunset dinner special, the staff was very anal about us having to placed our order before 5:30 pm. I mean, literally when we wanted to order the manager and servers would check their watch to make sure it was before 5:30 – even though we were seated before then and our hostess said we had time. When our waitress came to take our drink orders, she looked at her watch and said she hated to rush us but we had to order before 5:30 if we wanted the sunset special. So of course, we started to get anxious and wanted to place our order as soon as we sat down and scrambled to wave our waitress down so we could place our order before it was too late. My husband looked like a crazy person going around the restaurant trying to find our waitress. And as we were placing our order she looked at her watch again. What’s with this place and the time constraints?

Our food came and it was really good. My chicken was flavorful and my family all enjoyed their meals as well. Other than the anxiety we got of trying to order before a certain time, we enjoyed our dinner here.

Eddie V’s Prime Seafood

Wow oh wow! First time here and I will definitely be returning. Let me first start off by saying this high end steakhouse is very affordable in this category of dining. My partner and I got the 12oz filet with crab legs to split. This was a great entree and appropriate size to split between two people. Although the main course was amazing, the shining star of the evening was the truffle Mac n cheese! This side dish was out of this world. I would come back here just to get this by itsself.

The service was 10/10 from Ramon, our serving assistant and Camila alongside her new trainee. Ramon was extremely personable– You can just tell that he is a people person. Camila and her trainee made sure our glasses were never empty and food was tasting exquisite.

We will be back here soon!

Rancho Mirage

The Steakhouse at Agua Caliente Rancho Mirage

32-250 Bob Hope Dr

$$$ • Steakhouses, Seafood

We had dinner here a couple of weeks ago in celebration of our 11th wedding anniversary. It seemed like a great idea since we had tickets to see Kevin James at The Show that evening. However…I accidentally made our reservation for the one in Palm Springs, and we were almost without dinner plans for our special day. I explained this to the hostess, and she was able to squeeze us in to a very small table near the front of the restaurant and we were so grateful! I felt so lame for making a reservation at the wrong place, but the Agua Caliente in PS also has a restaurant of the very same name.

From the start of our meal, everything was perfect. A great little “amuse bouche” was provided by the chef, and we then enjoyed the tuna sashimi appetizer, followed by the filet Oscar for me, and the ribeye for my husband. We also shared the Mac and Cheese. My filet was perfectly prepared, just delicious, but the crab on top was strange – it was ice cold and stringy, I was unable to cut it or eat it. Not a huge deal. My husband’s meal was perfect. We enjoyed the complimentary meringue dessert and we also ordered another dessert that was awesome but I have completely spaced out on what it was.

The service here is outstanding and the people-watching from the front of the restaurant is spectacular.

Jeremy’s on the Hill

4354 Hwy 78

$$ • American (New), Steakhouses, Seafood

One of our new favorite restaurants! First off, the customer service is always excellent, everyone is so friendly. This time around we were able to be seated outside, so cute and cozy under the trees. There was even live music which we enjoyed. An unexpected treat!

Now for the food…

Appetizers: Lobster bisque and their signature brussel sprouts. The brussel sprouts are a must try!! Might be my favorite part of our entire meal. My husband was so happy with his lobster bisque. Perfect for a chilly evening outside.
Entree: We both got the flat iron steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and we especially love the truffle oil drizzled all over our plate. Everything was so good!
Dessert: Fresh out of the oven apple cobbler and a triple layer carrot cake. I’m not a fan of apple desserts but I tried this one and loved it!

Always so pleased leaving here and excited for our next visit. You can definitely taste the love and passion Jeremy has for his food, which is sadly so rare to find nowadays. Highly recommend Jeremy’s!

What a great experience! My first time at Ruth’s Chris, with great company. The service was impeccable. The food was delicious. We had: crab cakes to start; petite filet mignon medium rare with brussel sprouts and a couple bottles of Meiomi Pinot Noir for our table for the main; and creme brûlée with coffee for dessert. Every single thing was excellent. I can’t wait to go back.

We love their 808 roll and the protein roll! Both are to die for! Mike took good care of us and made sure we had everything we needed.
Mitch and Melissa are great people and support local small bushinesses, which is so important for our community!

Made reservations here for dinner on a Saturday night for our daughter’s birthday. Let me start off by saying that reservations are recommended! I had it set for 06:45 was possibly trying to push it for 07:30 and no go.  The restaurant is intimate and has limited sitting. So reservations are really a necessity.

We got there, got greeted and was seated promptly by the window. Amazing views, especially watching the sunset. My daughter’s 4 and everyone was so kind.

Tatiana was our server and her attention to detail was great! My daughter got chilly because of the AC and vents and was offered a pashmina to keep her warm. Even served her own amuse bouche to start our dinner. I love that they have a menu for tiny ladies and gentleman.

The steaks we had, I got the rib cap and husband had ribeye were all tempered to a tee. Potato puree was so flavorful and surprisingly light.

Ceviche was amazing, so fresh, bright and well balanced. Missing possibly crostini to tie it all off.

Dessert — couldn’t thank the staff more, they invited my daughter to meet the restaurant’s pastry chef after dinner, Sir Gregory and build her own Sundae! The experience was so amazing for her and she kept talking about it all night!

To finish our wonderful dinner, we were offered cordials and mignardise of vanilla coconut macaron.

it was def a full course dinner meal to remember!
