Best known for wine grape production, Lodi is a city located in San Joaquin County, California, in the center portion of California’s Central Valley. Although its vintages have traditionally been less prestigious than those of Sonoma and Napa counties, in recent years, the Lodi Appellation has become increasingly respected for its Zinfandel and other eclectic wine varietals. National recognition came from the Creedence Clearwater Revival song “Lodi” and continued with the “2015 Wine Region of the Year” award given to Lodi by Wine Enthusiast Magazine.

Stonum Vineyards and Winery

16388 N Alpine Rd

Great little winery in Lodi that has a fantastic setting for enjoying a bottle while you take in some sun.

The staff is incredibly friendly and always extremely helpful. Fran in particular has gone above and beyond to help and even when the crowd is large she makes the time to see if there’s anything she can do.

On to the wine; I’m normally not a fan of white wines and generally skip them during a tasting, but I was convinced to try a couple my first time here and was really impressed. It got my to join their club. On the second trip there I decided to try some more and once again I was impressed.

The whites here actually outshine the reds, which in my experience rarely happens.

Love this place and looking forward to another visit soon.

Jeremy Wine Company

6 W Pine St

Great little place, great customer service, and great wine!

Jeremy and Choral have a great place here. The wine is consistently good and never disappoints. I love bringing in my jug to get re-filled as well, in my book any winery that is relaxed enough to have refillable jugs in a winery I want to frequent! It’s also a super reasonably priced way to enjoy some tasty wine with friends!

My best friend is a wine club member and has been for many years despite living in Idaho now she remains a wine club member and we usually go when she is in town. They’re always friendly and we have a great time.

The tasting room is very inviting and they have so much fun stuff for sale on top of the wine. Like some seriously cute and clever gifts so if you’re in town wine tasting and forgot to pick up a gift for a friend’s birthday make sure to also check out the swag.

The front patio is a great place to chill outdoors and they also have the cutest little back patio which is a great place to chill with friends on a cool day and enjoy some bites while sipping grape juice.

Michael-David Winery

My partner and friends treated me to wine tasting for my birthday! This place was awesome. Great vibe and beautiful grounds. My favorite wines were: Rage, Symphony, Michael David Zinfandel.
This is the winery for you if you’re looking for a place that is laid back, friendly, fun and affordable… oh… and if you love flowers like me!…specifically Dahlias. Typically They are so hard to fine, but are in abundance here.

Harney Lane Winery

This winery is amazing. My wife and I love everything about it. We love getting a bottle and sitting out under the trees. It is so relaxing. I know a number of people are upset about their no kids policy. I love the no kids policy. Many adults like to go drink wine, eat lunch in peace with out your kids running around. Thank you for creating and amazing place to go relax while sipping on amazing wine

Klinker Brick Winery

15887 N Alpine Rd

This was a great find. We don’t get to Lodi often. Not often enough apparently. Wine tastings are offered in various levels and types which is a great idea when there are many wines available.

The wines are very, very good. Staff is friendly enough if a bit burdened the day we visited. We don’t think it’s ever appropriate to chastise an employee in front of guests. Other than than that, they were very good and attentive.

The venue is very nice. We sat on the patio and were treated to live music in a very covid friendly atmosphere. Great vibe here. If you haven’t been. Go.

Oak Ridge Winery

6100 E Victor Rd

We went to Lodi, CA to celebrate my birthday in November 2020. Right before the trip, California went to purple and a lot of the wineries were affected as they did not have outside spaces available to host the tasting rooms. After calling around and finding out that several of the wineries were open and offering outside wine tastings, we decided to still make the trip. This winery was awesome!!! We were able to visit without a reservation because we went on day during the week. The ambiance of their outside tasting area is beautifully landscaped!! I hate that I don’t remember the name of the person that waited on us but she was very nice. We happened to taste one of their wines before we made the trip to Lodi and fell in love with it. So I wanted to make sure we visited this winery while we were in Lodi and we were not disappointed!! Every wine we tasted was amazing. We loved the wine so much so that we purchased 6 bottles of wine to bring to New Orleans with us. When the hostess found out it was my birthday, she gave us like a 30% discount on our purchase!! One of the best birthday presents ever.

We plan on visiting Lodi again when the pandemic is under control and this winery is definitely on our list of wineries to visit again!!

Twisted Barrel Winery

1376 E Turner Rd

$$ • Wine Tasting Room

My family and I stopped in a few days ago. First timers though I’ve passed by many times. The two ladies that helped us were so pleasant and fun. It’s beautiful inside the little tasting room. The barrel walls are so cool! We tasted the Barbera and Sangiovese since they were having a super good deal on a half/half case. We ended up getting a case. They’re delicious everyday wines. I poured a couple of the bottles that night for a private event and had great reviews on it. I gave their cards out and recommended they go in.

Macchia Wines

7099 E Peltier Rd

$$ • Wineries

I’ve been going to Macchia for years and it just keeps getting better and better. I know when I go here I won’t want to leave. The service is wonderful, the wines are delicious and unique, and the events keep me coming back for more. Check out their gift shop for a pretty large selection of glasses, corks, and unique items you won’t find anywhere else.

Definitely one of the top 3 wineries in Lodi. I send out of towners here and they are always well taken care of.

Van Ruiten Family Winery

340 W Hwy 12

$$ • Wineries

We went up 8 miles from the casa to enjoy some Sunday afternoon music and do a wine club pickup. We were on the outside patio area, a perfect spot to enjoy a bottle of ’19 Chardonnay and live music.
Our light snacks led us thru the Chard and first set. We finished with some Dark chocolate covered blueberries and the second set. What a treat to enjoy with an Estate sourced ’16 Malbec paired with the blueberry bits.
If my Families from France were to visit, this winery would be on my list of locals to be proud of.

Pondl Winery

665 W Turner Rd

$$ • Wineries

Pondl is so awesome we come every time we are in Lodi. The atmosphere is so welcoming and they are dog friendly (huge bonus). The owner is so sweet and knowledgeable about the wines. We came and tried the seasonal pumpkin spice sangria and I highly recommend!! We ended up going home with three bottles (the fella which is a zin, the winemaker, and the garciano) which were honestly a great deal since the tasting fee (8 dollars) is waived with a bottle purchase. We had so much fun and will be back!!!!

THEY ARE DOING TASTINGS in case anyone was wondering!
