Every Player I Have On My 30-Man Roster For My Fantasy Football Team And Why

It’s time to get your fantasy team right. My team is filled with studs and sleepers about to bust out. Get them on your team before it’s too late.

I did it. I finally won it all in my dynasty fantasy football league. After taking over the last-place team in a 12-team dynasty league where we can keep as many players as we want from one year to the next I didn’t hesitate to make some big moves.

I traded away Trent Richardson and Joe Flacco to my good friend Jake in exchange for Peyton Manning. I then traded away a future first round pick in order to move up and snag the next best tight end the NFL would ever see in Eric Ebron out of North Carolina.

That was the beginning of many years of getting beat very badly. However, I slowly strengthened my roster one piece at a time by working the waiver wire and not holding on to any losers.

Now that I’ve ascended to the top of my league I want to share my roster with you. And I hope that these players will help you win a championship in your leagues too.

Before we get into it here are the basics of my particular league:

12-team ppr with IDPs
Starting lineup: QB, WR, WR, RB, RB, TE, FLEX, K, D, DL, LB, LB, CB, CB, S
30 roster spots + 5 reserve spots
Progressive landmark bonuses for plays/TDs of 40+ yards, reaching 100/150/200/250 yards receiving/rushing, 300/400/500 yards passing.

Quarterback

Starter: Joe Burrow

Reserve: n/a

Comment: I like to hold one good QB and Burrow is my guy. I drafted him as a rookie and I’m quite satisfied. He’s not as sexy as Josh Allen or Patrick Mahomes. But, I picked him based off of his ridiculous college numbers and he has not let me down. In our championship he netted me about 80 points and helped me cruise to an easy win. Cincinnati added a lot of upgrades to the offensive line this offseason so I’m really just hoping for more of the same out of ‘Ice Cold’ Cincinnati Joe.

Wide Receivers

Starters: Deebo Samuel, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Gabriel Davis

Reserves: Terry McLaurin, Darnell Mooney, Chris Godwin, Jakobi Meyers, Joshua Palmer, Byron Pringle, Donovan Peoples-Jones, Michael Gallup (PUP-P), Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Marquez Callaway, Tyquan Thornton (O), Justyn Ross (IR), Tim Patrick (IR)

Comment: I try to collect as many W/R/Ts that I see as either being the #1 at their position on their team and/or likely to exceed 1000 yards on their season. Every year is a new year filled with injuries, offenses that surprise, and offenses that disappoint.

While my top wideout [Deebo] is projected to finish as the 8th best WR in week 15 in my league — I have 4 WRs in the top 25 (Deebo, McLaurin, JuJu, Davis) and another 3 in the 26-48 bracket (Mooney, Godwin, Gallup).

Running Backs

Starters: Saquon Barkley, Rhamondre Stevenson

Reserves: D’Onta Foreman, Isaih Pacheco, Joshua Kelley, Ke’Shawn Vaughn, Jerome Ford

Comment: Running back is really my weak spot. Part of that is because I traded away James Conner and A.J. Green last year to acquire JuJu Smith-Schuster… and then I lost Chris Carson to injury.

I then proceeded to trade away my 2022 1st round pick in exchange for Sony Michel the week before Championship week. Foreman and Stevenson actually both had monster games that week, but I wanted to start someone I knew was going to get touches and Michel fit the bill. He got me 18 points, and I won the championship, so you won’t hear me complain.

Unfortunately, because we are a dynasty league, we got rid of the snake draft a few years ago — which meant I didn’t have many RB choices this year with my 1st pick being the 24th overall.

On the bright side, all reports have been glowing for Saquon this preseason and Stevenson is heading into the year with a lot of tailwinds.

I’m waiting to see what Foreman and Vaughn’s usage looks like in week 1. But, Kelley looks set to be the #2 RB in a high-powered offense that wants to ease the load on Ekeler in 2022. And Pacheco and Ford look like they both have very bright futures ahead of them if everything keeps trending in the same direction.

Tight Ends

Starter: Travis Kelce

Reserves: Darren Waller, Donald Parham Jr.

Comment: This position seems pretty self-explanatory.

Kicker

Starter: Ryan Succop

Reserves: n/a

Comment: n/a

Defensive Lineman

Starter: n/a

Reserves: n/a

Comment: A fairly significant position in my league that I don’t worry too much about. I’ll plug this spot with whoever is available in order to make sure I get the most productive roster on offense.

Linebackers

Starters: Jordyn Brooks, Fred Warner, De’Vondre Campbell

Reserves: Ja’Whaun Bentley, Pete Werner, Troy Andersen

Comment: I keep it relatively light at this position and if Brooks, Warner, and Campbell can continue where they left off I’ll have no complaints.

Cornerbacks

Starters: n/a

Reserves: n/a

Comment: Same as per DL.

Safety

Starters: n/a

Reserves: n/a

Comment: Same as per DL.
